Reclaiming Steady Ground: Peace with Food in Midlife
A 3 Month 1:1 Coaching Journey for Women Who “Have it All Together” — Except the Eating.
You are successful, capable, and driven. You manage the workload, the family, and the high standards of a busy life. But when the house finally goes quiet, the “food noise” begins.
Perhaps you find yourself:
-
Caught in the loop: being “good” and restrictive during the day, only to reach for food to switch off in the evening
-
Mentally drained: spending far too much headspace planning, counting, or trying to “do it right”
-
Tired but wired: steady through the day, then crashing with anxiety or restlessness at night
-
At odds with your body: navigating perimenopause and feeling like your body’s signals are no longer reliable
This isn’t a lack of willpower.
It’s your body asking for support.
For many women, the very traits that make you successful (perfectionism and high standards) can quietly push your nervous system into a “threat state.” When your body feels under-fueled or over-stressed, it activates a natural survival alarm. In this state, the part of your brain responsible for logic and planning can quieten down, making it much harder to “think” your way out of a craving. I am here to help you find your way back to steady ground.
How I help
I support women who look “fine on the outside” but feel unsettled, exhausted, or disconnected underneath — particularly around overeating that comes from stress, fatigue, boredom, emotional load, or wanting to switch off. Rather than focusing only on food, we explore what’s happening beneath the surface and build simple, realistic habits that support your body and nervous system at this stage of life.
This approach is:
-
Non-restrictive and weight-neutral
-
Compassionate rather than corrective
-
Practical and rooted in real life
-
Focused on calming your system, not pushing it harder
-
Designed to reduce food noise, not increase it
There’s no pressure to be perfect. There is only support to feel more at ease.
A supported 3 month journey
This is a private 1:1 space where you can slow down, reflect, and make changes that actually last.
Month 1 — Stabilise
We focus on easing overwhelm and creating a sense of “enough.”
-
Understand your energy, stress load, and eating patterns
-
Establish regular, gentle nourishment (no dieting, no rules)
-
Support sleep, digestion, and daily rhythm
-
Begin noticing what triggers overeating with curiosity, not judgement
Month 2 — Rebuild
We introduce gentle structure that supports you, rather than controls you.
-
Nourishment that fits your body, preferences, and real life
-
Movement that feels regulating and enjoyable, not punishing
-
Explore emotional or reactive eating with care (what it’s responding to, not “what’s wrong with you”)
-
Develop practical tools for evenings, stress, and low-energy moments
Month 3 — Integrate
We focus on confidence and sustainability.
-
Navigate stress, social eating, and busy periods with more ease
-
Reduce reliance on willpower or constant decision-making
-
Build trust in your body and your choices long-term
By the end of the program, many women notice they:
-
Experience less food noise and mental preoccupation
-
Eat more regularly and intuitively, without guilt or pressure
-
Feel steadier, clearer, and more grounded day to day
-
Have a personalised framework they can use beyond coaching
It’s about feeling more at home in your body again.

Why work with me (your Bristol-based Health Coach)
For many years I struggled with intense food noise and patterns that kept me disconnected from my body, even while appearing high-functioning on the outside. I know exactly what it’s like to use food to switch off, feel stuck in unwanted habits, and carry quiet exhaustion from trying to manage everything perfectly.
Yoga helped me start seeing my body as something precious rather than problematic. That shift in awareness — noticing patterns with compassion instead of criticism — became the foundation for real change. As my nervous system settled, the food noise eased and trust returned. Health coach training gave structure to what I had already lived, so I can now guide other women in a grounded, practical, and caring way.
I’m now 51, at ease with food, alcohol-free, and far kinder to myself. I coach the way I do because I know lasting change comes through safety, honesty, and consistent support — not pressure or perfection. I work with women online who want calmer energy, less food noise, more ease with eating, and a steadier nervous system — without guilt, restriction, or forcing themselves to cope.
